  • Hugh Richardson, Peruvian Paso breeder and judge who traveled to Maricopa County to offer his assistance, expertise and homes if needed.

In Colorado

  • Rita Anderson  - Head Angel, the rescuer who managed to secure the 11 Peruvians who came to Arizona and who got the Boulder County Prosecutor involved to seek removal of the last four Peruvians, a feat that many had tried to get done for 20 years – Rita accomplished it all with the help of all the angels listed in five short weeks.

  • Jay Hearst, horseman and horse lover, who donated greatly to the rescue of the Peruvians and whose generosity extended to raising additional funds through other donations to help the Peruvians and who visited the barn to be on stanby to help handle the horses for the veterinarian.

  • Julie Hillyard, breeder and custodian of Peruvian horses who went on to the property with the media to bring attention to the plight of the Peruvians and who took in 3 of the horses and donated  hay and support to the 11 who came to Arizona and advocated for involvement by law enforcement.

  • Sharon La Pierre and her husband, David Bruce, Peruvian persons in Colorado who have Peruvians including a baby they received through a rescue from the first group of horses.  Donated toward the rescue of the 11 Peruvians, brought hay to the Peruvians, guided Rita on supplies to request from PetsMart Charities for the horses, and advocated for involvement by law enforcement.

  • Dr. Nancy Loving who reduced her costs in order to get all of the horses their Coggins tests, health certificates and worming medication in Colorado.

  • Mike Wood , Peruvian breeder in Colorado who bravely worked with Julie Hillyard to bring feed to the Peruvians and to get the Colorado media involved risking trespassing charges with Julie in the process.

  • The Longmont Humane Society who generously contacted their own supporters for help for the Peruvians.

  • Dan Lisco, Sombrero Ranch manager, who loaned panels for a round pen, provided help to get the most difficult horse Coggins tested, and who, with his hands, helped handle the horses.

  • Linda Wise and her friend who contributed funds that made it possible for the two older stallions, M.M. Machito and M.M. Figuroso, to be retired at Cliffrose Ranch in Snowflake, AZ.

  • Leslie Irvine, Dana Hubbard, Colter Ellis, Jean Ash, Sarah Florez who were Rita’s special angels because they came in and willingly cleaned and mucked the layers of manure and urine in the stalls, the worst job of all and they lovingly did it for the horses.  In addition, Leslie Irvine and Dana Hubbard volunteered to feed the horses many time.

  • Scores of anonymous kind Coloradoans who responded to emails for help and donated funds for a bale of hay or a bag of shavings.

In New Mexico:
